MISSUS BEASTLY is the bestknown band representing progressive rock music which is deriving from my hometown Herford. So it was bound that some relations to the band occured because I'm always interested in exploring new innovative music. We had a central place which was our self-organized youth center FLA-FLA, besides the 'Umsonst und Draußen' festival in Vlotho an important location for music concerts in the region. In fact I wasn't a musician at all I never had very intensive, longer-termed connections - but we came across here and there during different activities.
I had closer contact to Atzen Wehmeyer for some time but he had already left MISSUS BEASTLY. We were both members of a circle who cared for children from deprived areas. I can remember him as a pleasant and faithful person. Another important musician who grew up in Herford was drummer Marlon Klein (DISSIDENTEN). I accompanied him for some time when being underway with the REAL AX BAND. He was a member of MISSUS BEASTLY too during the late phase.
Now in recent times my interest grew in putting together the existing info fragments about the different band phases and to work out one integrated biography. The enormous fluctuation is really impressing similar to EMBRYO which accentuates the experimental character. And it's secondary that with Lutz Oldemeier in February 1975 the last original Herford member had left. Elementary is the band's major importance for the development of jazz rock and fusion in Germany.
